Deborah (Deb) Roberts
quiltevals@aol.com A teacher, author, curator, judge, and appraiser, Deborah Roberts has been interested in quilts since childhood when she watched with fascination as her grandmother pieced scraps of fabric for the family bed covers. Now, her childhood interest takes her throughout the country as a speaker and appraiser. As an appraiser, Deborah specializes in the appraisal of antique quilts, contemporary quilts, and art quilts, as well as other textiles, including hooked rugs and woven coverlets. Offering written appraisals for insurance, fair market, and donation/estate values Deborah has appraised for corporations, museums, and private collectors, on a national and international basis. To promote quilt care, documentation, and history, Deborah offers complementary classes to quilt guilds/groups or historical societies, and is always excited to meet new people and share information on various quilt topics. Deborah sees herself as the perpetual student and as a member of several quilting organizations is an avid participant in contemporary quilting classes as well as those that explore quilt history. Eager to share her knowledge with others, she is able to prepare a workshop or lecture on most any quilt related subject.
